5 AI Tools to Turn Travel Screenshots and Links Into an Itinerary
Compare Mindtrip, Wanderlog, Gemini, ChatGPT, and FoneClaw for turning saved travel material into a reviewed plan without confusing drafts with bookings.
- Choose Mindtrip for documented screenshot and URL intake, Wanderlog for its documented link-and-reel route and map workspace, Gemini or ChatGPT for supplied-image interpretation, or FoneClaw for reviewed Android planning and supported saved-plan changes.
- Wanderlog’s cited import evidence is from its iOS listing, not proof of identical Android controls. No listed tool is guaranteed to read every private, expired, or login-protected travel link.
- Extract and correct places, dates, addresses, and booking constraints before arranging days. Keep each fact tied to its supplied source and leave ambiguous details unresolved.
- A place list, itinerary draft, saved plan, and reservation are different results. Reopen the chosen destination after edits. FoneClaw’s plan-save action does not automatically book, share, or create calendar entries; other apps’ calendar and export routes require their own checks.
Choose by the Travel Material You Already Have
The right AI tools to turn travel screenshots and links into an itinerary depend on what you saved and where you want the result. Mindtrip documents travel-specific screenshot and URL intake. Wanderlog documents link-and-reel importing alongside a map-based trip workspace. Gemini and ChatGPT can interpret supplied images for a planning conversation. Our FoneClaw route combines reviewed travel inputs with supported Android saved-plan actions.
| Tool | Best starting material | Result to inspect | Access boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mindtrip | Travel URL, screenshot, photo, or PDF | Customizable places or itinerary | Verify current traveler access and source readability |
| Wanderlog | Links or shared reels through its documented import route | Places and days in a map-based workspace | Cited import evidence is iOS; check Android and account scope |
| Gemini | Selected photos or supported files | Extracted facts and a proposed day plan | Sign-in, upload limits, and organizational settings vary |
| ChatGPT | Attached, pasted, or dragged images in the documented web composer | Reviewed planning text | Check account access; image input is not a specialized trip importer |
| FoneClaw | Supplied photos and accessible links | Draft, then separately requested supported plan save or change | Compatible model, edition, permissions, and approval policy |
This comparison follows official sources checked November 7, 2026, not hands-on benchmarking. The choices are based on input and output fit.
Keep four states separate: a place list identifies possibilities; a day plan arranges them; a saved itinerary persists in a destination you can reopen; a reservation requires an actual booking record. Moving from one state to another needs its own check.
Mindtrip and Wanderlog: Import Into a Trip Workspace
Mindtrip fits travel material you want converted into an editable travel structure. Its company-issued Start Anywhere announcement from July 31, 2024 describes accepting a travel URL, screenshot, photo, or PDF and producing a customizable place list or itinerary. This is an established feature announcement, not a new 2026 launch.
The announcement includes examples involving travel blogs, videos, social content, receipt screenshots, and forwarded confirmation emails. That makes Mindtrip a relevant candidate when the material itself—not destination discovery—is your starting point.
Inspect whether each extracted place matches the supplied material before arranging days. A receipt date may describe a purchase rather than a visit, and a scenic photograph may not identify a venue uniquely. Documented social-content intake does not guarantee access to every private or currently available URL. Follow the traveler-facing route; creator and destination-organization administration flows are separate.
Wanderlog fits people who want places organized on a map alongside reservations and notes. Its developer listing and release notes describe pasting links or sharing reels to create an itinerary. The listing also describes rearranging stops, adding notes and links, organizing reservations, and collaborating on a trip.
The important qualification is platform evidence: that source is an iOS listing. It does not prove the same import controls exist on Android, or establish screenshot importing there. Check the actual app, account, and any Pro requirement before choosing it for one particular input format.
For either specialist, compare the imported list with the original saves before optimizing the route. Look for duplicate branches, a wrong city, an omitted fixed booking, or an inspiration stop presented as reserved. A map helps reveal geographic problems, but map placement alone does not confirm opening hours, ticket availability, or feasible travel time.
Gemini and ChatGPT: Extract First, Plan Second
Gemini and ChatGPT are useful when your first problem is interpreting mixed material: a booking screenshot, a cropped venue name, or notes in another language. Start by asking what is visible, not by requesting a polished itinerary immediately.
Gemini documents selected-image and file analysis for signed-in users. Its Android file-upload guidance includes Add files and Photos routes on supported mobile surfaces. Limits and organizational access vary. Select only the material needed, then ask it to distinguish visible text from uncertain interpretation.
ChatGPT documents attaching, pasting, or dragging images into its web composer. Official OpenAI documentation on image inputs recommends explaining the image and what you want inspected. Label multiple images clearly so a date from one screenshot is not attached to a place in another.
A proposed first request is: “Image A is a booking confirmation; Image B is inspiration only. Extract visible place names, dates, times, and addresses. Identify the source for each fact and mark cropped or uncertain details. Do not arrange days yet.”
Correct that extraction before asking for a day-by-day draft. Supply constraints not visible in the images, such as arrival time, walking tolerance, budget, or a fixed hotel. If the screenshot is multilingual, check that the interpretation preserves dates and place names rather than treating a translation as independent confirmation.
These are flexible planning workflows proposed here, not documented one-click travel-import or saved-trip integrations. A readable answer remains planning text until you deliberately preserve it in a chosen destination. Supplying an image also does not establish access to the original social post behind it.
FoneClaw: Review Inputs and Change a Saved Plan
Our FoneClaw workflow supports trip drafting from supplied photos and accessible links, followed by conversational changes to supported saved plans. Use a compatible image model for screenshots and check that the actual source can be accessed. Review extracted details before requesting a write.
In our Global edition, supported plan actions include creating a new plan, reading a private saved plan, updating or replanning selected content, and appending consecutive days. Ask to save the reviewed draft only when that action is available in your edition. Then reopen the saved plan and inspect the actual result rather than relying solely on the response saying it was saved.
For later changes, read the current saved revision first. If another edit has occurred, compare and merge the requested change into that newer version instead of overwriting it with an old draft. Keep the change narrow: moving one flexible visit should not alter an unrelated hotel booking.
Appending days preserves the existing days, trip information, and packing list. If you want those fields changed, request an update rather than expecting an append to revise them. A longer trip may also require separate changes to departure or accommodation details.
Saved-plan controls differ by edition; do not assume the domestic Chinese edition provides the Global new-plan creation route. Use only the existing-plan actions actually exposed in your setup.
Our Features page describes the supported scope. For the detailed save-and-edit procedure, use Create, Edit and Share a Travel Itinerary on Android: Verify Every Step. Saving a plan does not create calendar entries, To-dos, bookings, shared membership, or photos. Model processing and Android actions remain subject to the configured model, permissions, and approval policy.
A Mixed-Input Example With Fixed Bookings
Suppose you are planning a two-night Porto trip for April 16–18, 2027. All times in this hypothetical example are local Porto times.
You provide arrival at 13:00 on April 16, departure at 17:00 on April 18, a relaxed pace, and a €120 budget for optional activities and local spending. Your hotel is fixed for both nights, and a gallery visit at 11:00 on April 17 must not move.
| Input | What it supports | What remains unresolved |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshot A: redacted confirmation | Hotel dates and the fixed gallery visit | Any cropped address or check-in detail |
| Screenshot B: saved café recommendation | A visible café name and neighborhood reference | Which branch, current hours, and whether a reservation is needed |
| Link C: an accessible official museum page | The information actually readable on that page | Anything not stated, including date-specific availability |
A proposed request is: “First list supported facts from A, B, and C, with source labels and unknowns. Keep my hotel and April 17 gallery booking fixed. Ask which café branch I mean if ambiguous. After I correct the facts, propose a relaxed three-day plan. Do not book or change reservations.”
After clarification, the draft could leave arrival day light, place flexible visits around the fixed gallery slot, and reserve departure-day buffer. Exact transfer times remain to be checked; the assistant should not manufacture them from a polished schedule.
For a later rain-day request, ask to swap only flexible indoor and outdoor activities while preserving the gallery time and hotel nights. This is a contingency request, not a claim about actual weather. Review the changed day and reopen the saved destination. If the output moved the gallery or changed departure, correct that before accepting the revision.
Repair Missing, Ambiguous, or Conflicting Inputs
When an input fails, repair that input rather than asking for a more confident itinerary.
- Private, expired, or login-protected link: supply a permitted screenshot or relevant text you are authorized to share. Do not provide passwords or seek an access bypass.
- Cropped or blurred screenshot: provide a clearer crop with the venue name, date, and surrounding context. Mark missing characters as unknown.
- Ambiguous place: add the city, neighborhood, branch, or official address. A recognizable building or matching name is not enough.
- Duplicate saves: compare source details before merging. Similar names may represent different branches.
- Conflicting information: retain both statements with their sources and dates, then check the responsible booking provider or venue.
Verify current opening dates, hours, entry rules, ticket status, and transport separately. An old screenshot can be correctly transcribed yet no longer describe current conditions. A source publication date is not necessarily a visit date.
For a failed save, inspect the chosen destination before retrying. An unclear response does not prove nothing was written. If there is an existing plan, compare its current contents before issuing another save or update. This prevents duplicate trips and protects corrections already made.
Keep One Reviewed Plan and Separate Booking Records
Choose one primary itinerary destination. Reopen it after edits and check dates, fixed commitments, unresolved details, and the latest requested change. Use the chosen app’s actual sharing or export controls; a request to discuss a trip does not create shared membership or transfer it into another planner.
For already booked travel, TripIt is a separate reservation-organizing handoff, not a sixth AI inspiration pick. Its official confirmation-email workflow organizes supported original booking confirmations. Do not treat an emailed screenshot, copied text, or hand-typed summary as the same input. Keep booking references and access codes out of public inspiration images.
For broader planner selection, Best Travel Itinerary Planner Apps for Android: Wanderlog, TripIt, Gemini, and FoneClaw compares the larger workflow. If your next step is extracting reminders rather than arranging travel days, Best Screenshot-to-To-Do Apps for Android: Todoist, Gemini, and FoneClaw covers that different output.
Choose Mindtrip or a verified Wanderlog import route for travel-workspace intake, Gemini or ChatGPT for flexible image interpretation, or FoneClaw for reviewed drafting and supported Android plan changes. In every case, preserve the distinction between what was suggested, what was saved, and what is actually booked.
